Lincoln's Famous Letter to Greeley Photo Print
On August 22, 1862 President Lincoln wrote his famous letter to Horace Greeley he gave the letter to the National Intelligencer editor, Dr. James Clarke Welling for publication. During the Civil War Sesquicentennial Dr. Welling's great granddaughter has offered to reproduce the original letter using her great grandfather's relief plates. (see Relief plate 228a written on the mat). Accompanying each print is certificate of authenticity signed by Dr. Welling's great-granddaughter.
