Growing up in a small town East of Des Moines, Iowa, Dana K. Bolen learned to appreciate the small things in life. She was involved in athletics and extra curricular activities within her school and she excelled academically. She got a degree in ‘Physical Education Non-Teaching With An Emphasis In Sports Psychology‘ at the University of Northern Iowa . During college, she started to pursue her passion for photography as it provided a sense of inner peace and a means of self-expression. In the Spring of 2007, Dana moved to Omaha, Nebraska, and continued to pursue her professional career in the hospitality industry, which she eventually persevered as a well- respected Banquet Manager at a popular hotel in the heart of Omaha. She is an avid animal lover and has a special place in her heart for Siberian Huskies. She has two Husky ’Princesses’ of her own and both can be seen in several of her artistic images. She always puts her heart in everything she is passionate about and is involved in. She is ambitious, goal-oriented, zealous, and her positive energy often radiates onto others. Her strong personality and distinct individuality often inspires and motivates individuals whom she encounters. Dana’s photographs captivate the uniqueness of historical Old Market in congruence to the ravishing landscape of Omaha and surrounding areas in the Midwest. She specializes in landscape photographs in accordance to light and reflection. She passionately works on her photographs at all hours of the day, in which she occasionally stays up throughout the overnight to capture the true essence of landscapes in respect to seasonal changes, weather conditions, and environmental factors. She works diligently on each photo by refurbishing frames and matting the prints prior to displaying the prints for purchase. Dana has a knack for seeing the beauty and uniqueness within everything that meets the eye. She artistically modifies her photos with a contemporary design. Several photographs are a depiction of a stage in her life, as well as portrays the environment and people who surround her. The artistic edge of each image captivates her perceptions of life and the world around her. Each photograph tells its own story and entails much symbolism. The story that each photo tells can only be perceived and interpreted by the eye of the beholder.
