About
Coloring Easter eggs, learning to be a little more artistic with the process, hunting Easter eggs, Sunrise Service on Easter Sunday, biting ears off hollow chocolate bunnies, playing with Peeps that were ALMOST too sweet to eat . . . there are many holiday traditions with Easter. Fond memories from my childhood that became even more precious when shared with my son. Waking on Easter morning to find the baskets left by the Easter Bunny . . . never once questioning the connection of rabbit and eggs. There are many stories about the origins of the Easter Bunny. The general consensus seems to be that both rabbits and eggs are symbolic of fertility and are, therefore, representative of the earth's re-birth in spring -- or, from the more religious perspective, Christ's arising on the third day. The eggs, some stories recount, were often given up for Lent. In order to preserve them, they were boiled. These marvelous designs are steeped and hued in the glorious colors associated with the holiday and the season. Thank you for visiting my store. I hope you enjoy your stay and the items offered here.
