About

Graeme Park is a National Historic Landmark located in Horsham, PA. The Keith House was built c. 1722 for Sir William Keith, governor of PA from 1717-1726, and contains Georgian paneling, paint surfaces, flooring, glass, and hardware dating from the time of construction through the mid-18th c. when the house was updated by the second owner, Dr. Thomas Graeme. Graeme's daughter, the writer Elizabeth Graeme Fergusson hosted "attic evening" in the Keith House. Modeled after European literarty salons, these events attracted Colonial luminaries such as Dr. Benjamin Rush, Francis Hopkinson, William Franklin, to whom Elizabeth was once engaged, and many others. Graeme Park is owned and operated by the PHMC with the support of the Friends of Graeme Park. Guided tours of the Keith House are available Fri-Sun and groups by appointment. Proceeds raised on Zazzle go to the Friends of Graeme Park to assist in their mission of aiding the state in the preservation and promotion of the site to the public.
