About
D’Arcy Evans was born in a small town in Ontario, Canada in 1960. His interest in photography was sparked in 1977 while flying over the Yukon River in Alaska in a small plane. He made a photograph of the river that was later used by the geography department at the high school he attended back home.
Over the years D’Arcy has owned and operated successful galleries and studios providing general photographic work and fine art.
Today his “focus” is on fine art and his images have been viewed and sold all over the globe. Although not actively perusing portrait or commercial work he occasionally accepts assignments if time permits.
D’Arcy prefers The Nikon system for digital work and still uses his Hasselblad 500cm for its square format and amazing image quality.
The learning curve in photography is endless, not so much from at technological point of view that’s a given, but from a personal point of view. Photographers that remain humble regardless of their success are the ones I respect the most. I am very critical of all my images and I believe the best photographers are those that are their own worst critic.
Ultimately I enjoy creating images folks like and appreciate.
