Matilde Caceres-Zelinger

Artist by Night, Marketing Girl by Day. Artist Biography: "Expressing oneself or another individual's view in a two-dimensional or three-dimensional form is a unique ability that allows others to visualize. It is truly a magical form of communication!" I grew up around art in the great city of Houston. Thanks to my beautiful parents who exposed us continuously to the arts throughout our childhood and young adolescence, all three siblings, now grown-ups are involved in the arts. I graduated from the University of Texas / Pan American with a BFA in Advertising Design & Marketing. After doing that for nine years, I later pursued a degree in secondary art education. I did this so that I could take summers off and still get paid. Well that didn't work out very well for this work-a-holic girl. For three years, I always found summer jobs to make up for the "no-job during the summer syndrome" due to my teaching career. My life then did a 180 and I ended back up in the business world of marketing. I have truly been blessed with job opportunities that most people dream of and have devoured my job experiences to further my art career to its fullest. Since then, I have taught art, exhibited in galleries, do traveling art shows, have been commissioned to do major art pieces, built this online store and also sell on ebay. As of March 2004, I began selling my art online. Now my art is displayed in private collections in offices and homes across the nation, Mexico, Canada, Iceland and Europe. My work has been described as fresh, whimsical, and modern contemporary. I consider my art as reproductions of my inner self. Some are influenced by my emotions (mostly humorous/love for nature), and others I experiment with technique, observation and use of materials. I look back and see how my work has evolved throughout the years and it is interesting to see how it mirrors ones' life. Art does tell a story through styles, colors and technique.
