The store was created in honor of my mother, Maria Ascension Holguin. I wrote a memoir, "Mi Madre Maria" as a tribute of love to my mother to honor women who carried families, crossed borders, and built legacies. She was a young Mexican girl whose life was marked by hunger, loss, faith, sacrifice, and extraordinary resilience. She was born into povery, lost her mother at a young age, and was abandoned by her father. Yet she carried within her a strength that could not be broken. She crossed the border into the United States with nothing but courage and hope. She fell in love, married and alongside my father, Manuel, built a life from nothing, opening businesses, and creating a legacy rooted in hard work, faith, love, and family.
