About

I would like to tell you a little about myself. I have been creating art from as far back as I can remember. I have been painting professionally for about seventeen years now. There are so many various aspects of art, but they all share a common unity, a universal language that speaks to all of us in different ways. I have found painting for me to be a wonderful way to express my feelings and emotions, to portray an opinion or to send a message. I feel like when I am creating a painting or sculptoral piece I am my purest self, the real me. I graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree (Cum Laude) in Art and Art History in 1992. In addition, I also hold a Teaching License for Art (K-12) from the University of NC. I've traveled throughout Europe studying painting, sculpture, architecture and art history. I am fascinated by many styles of art but am drawn to impressionism. I have done several series of paintings in realism, abstract, abstract impressionism and impressionism. I love working with the beautiful colors of nature and the play on light and reflection. My work is original and created from photographs and memory.
