Spanglish

When I began teaching almost a decade ago, I had no idea that I would end up living in Mexico and raising bilingual children. The journey from teacher to parent gives me a unique perspective on bilingual education - and what really works. When I was trying to find products for both my daughter, who is bilingual, and my husband, who only spoke Spanish, I just couldn´t find what I was picturing in my head. Instead, I turned to authentic materials, like board games and books not meant for language learners. And they worked great - but this is because of my teaching experience and educational background. Most parents of students who asked me for help had no idea where to begin or what to do to reinforce a foreign language at home. So, I decided to start to sell my own materials and activities, that worked so well for us. All of my products are unique from anything else you will find because, 1) I am a busy, working mom. Everything I create is meant for people like me, who don´t have an extra minute to carve out of the day, and 2) They are made for long-term use. As a minimalist at heart, I am always looking for things that can kill 2, 3 or 4 birds with one stone. Or in my case, activities that I can easily use for a toddler and an adult, a beginner or an advanced learner, and everything in between.
