About
Staci is...
a NPR junkie
a cheese snob
left-handed
a hopeless bibliophile

The first thing that you might notice when you enter Staci’s studio is the stacks of broken books, or the rusty objects brought in from the side of the road, or maybe even the broken computer parts. Further in you may see the piles of paint, trays of pastels, or drawers of ink. If you are very observant, you might even see discarded love letters, rescued buttons, or abandoned dolls. Or you might just get a general sense of paper and fiber in the midst of the chaos. This is the home of castaways and rejects. Staci finds beauty in the forsworn and wondrous in the mundane. She then attempts to convey it in her artwork through use of found objects and iconic imagery.

Staci's paintings convey an emotional intensity with a non-figurative aesthetic. Her method of creation emphasizes spontaneous or subconscious composition.

Man Ray, Minor White, Ralph Gibson, and Edward Weston have each had a major impact on Staci's photography style. She works primarily in high contrast black and white imagery. Her artistic focus in photography is to bring a new perspective to everyday objects.
