Hello! We’re Tammy and Takeshi, and are thrilled to be sharing our designs with you! “Takara” means treasure in Japanese (and is also one of the combinations our two names can make!). Life is full of treasures, big and small, and there is so much beauty everywhere once we go looking for it! From the tiniest leaf to the most powerful Buddha statue or mountain or vista, the real moment of treasure happens when we bring our own excitement and sense of adventure to it all. Over the past few years, we have travelled throughout Southeast Asia and India and fell in love with the vibrant, rich cultures we encountered, and became very inspired in our art practice from the long days and months immersed in these foreign lands. We are always looking for ways to express the richness of life – its colors, passions, wishes and dreams – creatively, and are so happy to be sharing our work with you! You will find digitized drawings, paintings and photographs, some very representational and others more abstract, mostly of nature and spiritual scenes.
