My name is Darby and I’m the artist behind Woods + Ivy! A little bit about me - I am married to the best human I know and have a sweet little girl who is the light of our lives. We also have an adorable pup who loves to go on adventures. I love to read, play disc golf, and bake. Lifting weights and going on walks keep me sane, and I am very capable of binge-watching almost any TV show. I love a good TV or movie marathon. I love the color green and I put sprinkles on almost anything. I have a candle lit as often as I can and I believe you can never have too many throw pillows or fuzzy blankets. My dream for this business and my art is as follows: I want these pieces to be little reminders of the good around you. I want the colors to brighten up your space and your day. I want the words to mean something to you — whether they make you laugh, make you feel known, remind you that you are a BELOVED child of the Lord, encourage you to face the day, push you to conquer your giants, remind you of someone you love, or simply make you smile. Color, Jesus & Mental Health are the foundations of Woods + Ivy. These 3 things are my core inspirations for creating and the drive behind my business. Art and creating have had a HUGE impact on my mental health. I’ve always turned to creating when feeling stressed or worried as a way to relax and recharge. When I began to really struggle with my mental health, my husband bought me an iPad to help me process through my emotions and have a creative outlet with me wherever I went. Turns out, I love digital lettering and love creating pieces that helped me through some really hard times. My experience led me to start this business, and it was founded on hope; hope in the Lord and hope for a better tomorrow. I want to make it clear that YOU ARE NOT ALONE. I am here for you, and I hope by sharing my journey and learning about yours, we can all go on this crazy adventure together. That’s how it’s supposed to be.
