Yim Mau-Kun Studio features limited edition of prints based on artist Yim Mau-Kun's art works. Yim is a well-rounded artist adept at all genres of oil painting, including still life, landscape, portrait, human figure and narrative. Linking his paintings in different genres is a great sense of color and emotional connection with the audience, in addition to precision in form and solid composition. He is also an educator and author of more than a dozen books on drawing and oil painting. Yim’s works have been featured in Southwest Art, The Artist’s Magazine, International Artist magazine, as well as in major media publications in the China-Taiwan region. His art was awarded Best of Show at Salon International 2005, First Place of the Annual Competition held by the Portrait Society of America, and the 2005 Cover Competition of The Artist’s Magazine. Due to his outstanding achievements in painting, he was appointed honorary overseas artist of the Guangdong Academy of Fine Arts in 1999 and honorary president of the Changde College of Crafts and Fine Arts in the Hunan Province in 1997 in China.
